Should Davis use trash politics?
Currently groups, don't know who are digging up trash about Arnold. First it was about gauping women, second he got accused for hating Hitler. Al Gore decided not to dig up trash in his campaign because he though it was dishonorable. Jerry Brown is not to fond of the fact people are using trash politics. Should Davis use this trash in the campaign? Or is he giving people a reason to recall him?

Arnold has apologized for gauping women, same way Clinton apologized for lieing. Arnold stated he would be strong on women's rights. Arnold was also accused of praising Hitler. However Arnold funded 1 million to Jews. I would personally prefer a Democrat who would campaign fairly and not act like Newt Gingrich(or any other GOP).

When it comes to the remaining candidates my choices from best to worst are....
1.Peter Camejo-I agree with almost everything he says!
2.Bustamante-He sounds like a decent govenor
3.Arnold-Not so good, but a lot better than Bush
4.Tom MClintock-Too much like Bush

Since you are a Green you don't live in real world politics. Yo are very misinformed - it is sad that in California there are many who think the same way you do- Arnold is not better than - Bush he is a Bush Puppet. the other two have a snowballs chance in hell. I hope you get McClintock, you deserve him.

9. Trash digging is a Republican tactic
Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 09:48 PM by Morfos
1. Since when did I say I was a green? I consider myself a very Liberal Democrat. I support the Green Party as well because they believe what I do. And why do I deserve McClintock? I didn't support him, nor do I support Arnold. By the way, your flaming me in a political debate, thats a Conservative debating tactic that you have just used against me.

2. Karl Rove is not running with Arnold. Im not hoping for Arnold's victory either, so don't tell me Im pro-Arnold. In the 2000 elections, Gore could of blasted disturbing personal information at Bush to get a sure victory. Gore did not do so because he was honorable and he wanted to win with out getting dirty and stooping that low. As a Liberal I disagree with attacking people's personal life while campaigning(unless they do it first of course). Al Gore would of won if the GOP hadn't cheated in Florida. In this election Gray Davis is digging irrelevent information about Arnold in an attempt to lower his reputation. By doing so Davis is making himself look like a coward desperate to win, giving people a reason to recall him. If your going to campaign, do it right. What Davis should do is attack Arnold's political views. Bringing up disturbing sex/pastlife information about a candidate is a Republican tactic and I disagree with it. If Arnold doesn't use this tactic, neither should Davis. Use this tactic against Bush, since Karl Rove is his brain.

*Stay open minded!*

2. If Davis should lose,
Ca. will be out 7-8 billion dollars. But then "progressive principles " taste so much better.

3. Hell Yes
The best defense is a good offense. The GOP has declared there are no more rules including no more rules of decency. Whatever works now is fine with me.

BTW, what the hell is "gauping"?

4. How quickly Morfos forgets that it was Arnie Boy who first.......
used "trash politics" when he attacked Cruz Bustamante's receding hairline!

Arnold SLANDERED Gray Davis's record! Governor Davis has had many successes with education reform, enviromental protection, labor rights, WOMEN'S RIGHTS, and reformed the energy system! Arnold LIED about the Indian Tribes! They have a right to have their land too and can have casinos!!!!! Arnold is being backed by the White House!
Do you want to give the Dirtiest Campaigner of them all (KKKARL ROVE)
another Victory?????

Morfos is sounding like Alan Colmes! You know, the one who get's his ass kicked by Sean Insanity on a nightly basis!

6. Remember, folks these are the same kind of rationalizations they used
to help Bush in 2000. The responses so far give me hope for our crowd.

7. Heck yes. The Democratic Party is NOT soft on criminal molestors.
And I hope Gov. Davis and the California Democratic Party go to great lengths to show the country that the Democratic Party is not soft on criminal molestors.

10. Unless the LA Times is lying
Davis had nothing at all to do with that article. Frankly, as someone who if Arnold's party had its way would never have any rights to a relationship at all, I find it galling that he got a free pass on this for as long as he did. There have been rumors and articles about this behavior for years. Think of it this way what if it were a gay man who groped men's crotches and stuck his hands down men's pants? Would he be leading in the polls?

14. yep; just because LA wants sensational headlines...
...doesn't mean davis is tossing around trash about arnold. arnold and the papers can do that on their own; it's not like he doesn't deserve the negative attention. for once, the accusations aren't unfounded. funny how republicans go out of their way to make scandals out of the dems' lives, while the dems need only report the repub's lives?

11. Arnold is trashy and sleazy. It's like if you pointed out that Larry Flynt
made money off of porn, and Flynt turned around and said, he, you're resorting to sleeze.

if you are sleazy you can't act like sleaze is off limits.

(How do spell sleaze?)

12. recalling the recall...
this kind of trash will come out without Davis advertising it. What Davis should be doing is running ads that question arnold's ability to be Governor and his cowardly attempts to dodge a debate with Davis. The media and other recall candidates are doing plenty to advertise arnold's personal flaws.

on the candidates,

1. Peter Camejo-like you, I agree with almost all of Camejo's agenda.
2. Bustamante - politically he is a cross between DINOs like Lieberman and Feinstein.
3. Tom McClintock-fits the neo-con mold perfectly, but at least is more honest about what he stands for than either Arnold or Shrub.
4. Arnold-take your pick, is it a vote for the Terminator or the Groper?

13. Schwartzenegger's entire run is trash politics. Go for it.
Bodybuilder, big screen Cyborg, married into pseudo-royalty, and throws off a few one-liners.

People like to talk about California as a country with the Xth biggest whatever in the world.

We make fun of other countries when they elect people like this (remember Estrada in the Philippines?)

15. Let us begin, shall we?
First off, I have NO idea what the hell "gauping" is. Do you mean groping? Ah, the talking points of "Arnold is no different than Clinton." Do us all a favor. Go find a dictionary and look up the word "consensual" and get back with us.

Arnold wasn't accused of praising Hitler. He DID praise Hitler. No amount of money thrown into the Simon Wiesenthahl Center is going to change that. Sane people do not praise or admire Hitler.

These accusations did NOT come from the Davis camp, as the L.A. Times has repeated endlessly, or don't you actually READ the damned articles? Davis had NOT gone negative on Ahnold though he easily COULD have. Your boy, Arnold, however, has told lie after lie after lie about Davis and California's economy. Why won't your boy discuss his meeting with Kenny Boy Lay?

Camejo doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning but votes for this guy dissiminates (get that dictionary out) Democrat votes and gives one more vote to Governor Groper. On behalf of all the women in California, thanks a helluva lot!

Trash politics is all Gray Davis has ever done. It's worked well for him in the past. Why should he change now?
