Canvassing in NYC (for Clark)

Just back from Union Square where I handed hundreds of these great
flyers made by our own Anthony Cappo (pdf image here:
http://tinyurl.com/rdwo)
People's reactions were mostly great - ranging from: "He's the Man!"
"I'm already working for him" "You're preaching to the converted" to
"OK, I'll check him out"
"Dean for President" said another guy. "One way or another we'll work
together soon" I said. He smiled and admitted: "OK, as long as we get
rid of bush" "Check my other button" I said (besides a huge one with
Clark's pic I have on the right a slashed "W". So we parted friends.
"But I am from Queens" this genius told me" "but he's running for
POTUS" I offered. "But I am a Republican" he whimpered. "Lots of
Republicans vote for him" He looked a little helpless, looked around to
see if Rove was watching took the flyer and hid it in his pocket as if
it were stolen goods."
I kept at it envisioning that each flyer I was handing was a nail in
W's coffin. (Politically speaking).
It was a gorgeous day and NYC-ers are interested.

2. Clark has a great shot in NY
In the primaries it's probably going to boil down to Clark vs. Dean. Once Lieberman drops out, I think that most of his sizeable following in NY will go to Clark. I see Clark carrying the state in the primary.

Any Democrat will probably win NY in the general election. But I suspect Clark would prevail by the most sizeable margin. Clark is attractive to NY intellectuals and probably will appeal more to the black and Latino voters than Dean or Kerry.

As a native Western New Yorker, I believe he would capture a large majority of the upstate ballots with voters crossing over party lines.

3. Good work!
... to you and to everyone who worked for their candidate today. Here in the Bay Area we've been tabling at farmer's markets and street fairs since mid-July (the "Draft Clark" phase). Today I was at the Berkeley farmer's market, the heart of leftiness itself, and we got a pretty good response.

One farmer's market here always features a lineup of tables: Kucinich-Dean-Clark. Relations between the campaigns "on the ground" are invariably better than they are on DU.

BTW...Good Work spreadin the word!!!

It couldn'tget any better than that.
I look foward to working with the Dean folks also. I hope you guys are looking forward to working with us.

I hope and pray that one or the other has the courage to put ego stand as VeeP to whomever gets the nomination.

8. I am glad it well for you
It bears pointing out that you have had not one, as in no, negative comments in your thread. It sure would be nice I could post even one on Dean and have that be the case. But again, I am glad things went well.
