Blair targets foxes' fate in hunt for votes
There are reputedly more accommodation establishments in the UK that allow their guests to bring their pets, than deign to allow their young children.

With the Brits, cruelty to animals is consequently a potentially more powerful political issue than it would be almost anywhere else. Hence the speculation that a bitter controversy over fox-hunting could do more to unseat Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair than more conventional political issues - like Iraq - which have failed to yield to the best efforts of Labour's spin merchants.

"The unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable," was how Oscar Wilde described the sight of mounted red-coated fox hunters and their hounds in full cry over the hedgerows and through the fields of rural England.
