KY: GOP driver's mischief falls flat
WITNESSES CATCH MAN DEFLATING TIRE ON CHANDLER VAN
By John Cheves
HERALD-LEADER STAFF WRITER

The pranksters got pranked on the campaign trail Wednesday.

The driver of a campaign bus rented by U.S. Rep. Ernie Fletcher, the Republican nominee for governor, deflated a tire on a van owned by the Kentucky Democratic Party at a Fletcher appearance in Shelby-ville.

Democrats use the van to carry The Job Terminator, a large, Fletcher-like head with sunglasses that party workers puckishly parade around at Fletcher events. The caricature is intended to tie the GOP candidate to job losses and the weak national economy.

Two people saw Fletcher's driver let the air out of the van's tire and insisted that he immediately confess to its operators, which he did, said Jeff Derouen, spokesman for the Democratic Party.

2. Just when you thought the level of political discourse
could not be brought down any lower, the Republicans pull out the vista cruiser once again!

3. Boy, THAT'S the way to help your candidate...
I guess when Fletcher's strategists said, "We're gonna let the air out of the tires of Ben Chandler's campaign", some of their MORE INTELLIGENT operatives took it a bit TOO litterally!:eyes:

B-)

5. show the flat tire-
Makes the dummy look even more symbolic. They should have let the air out of the Dem's van tires if they intended any effective symbolism or sniggering joke points.

Now the Democrat gets free publicity for a double embarassment of the Repug.

Show the van display with the flat.
