Army of Black and Gold Endorses Dean
DES MOINES - The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) today became the first international union to endorse Howard Dean in the 2004 campaign. The Army of Black and Gold, as the 140,000 members are known, was named by the AFL-CIO as the most effective political organization in the labor movement in 2001. Their motto, “feet on the streets,” reflects how you will defeat George W. Bush in this election.

1. It's a start
I think Dean looks good for the SEIC union endorsment next month and possibly given the endorsement of the California Education Assn the national NRA endorsement. He also might be a contender for the United Auto Workers.

4. I have had my fingers crossed
over the SEIC endorsment for the last couple of months. I did not know we were in the running for the UAW endorsment. I was under the understanding that Gep had the all the heavy industrial unions in his pocket. :sweet:

3. Dean's campaign continues to impress me
He's building a movement that's going to change politics as we know it.
