The Dean campaign rapid response is awesome
These guys have really got it together. Not only are they fundraising mavericks, but they appear to be getting into the Carville War Room mode, and that's a good thing.

I saw a post on LBN(made by a Clarkie btw) where Sharpton was attacking Dean. I go to the Dean blog and BAM, there's a statement by Jesse Jackson Jr. responding to the Sharpton attack.

And it's not just responding to incoming fire from the other campaigns, but when Bush or one of his cabal does or says something stupid BAM, they're right there with the Gov talking about what a bunch of frauds they are.

I get more impressed with Dean and the campaign everyday, and although it won't mean anything, I can't wait to cast my vote for him in the NC May 4, primary.

1. Nail on the head...
...and that's why Dean will be able to beat the holy unmerciful hell out of Bush. We're going to nail that criminal son of a bitch to the next train outta town!

GO DEAN!

2. Welcome to realtime politics.
Look, I support Dean for completely different reasons, but I love how his campaign responds so quickly to attacks. This is the future of politics.

3. How about his response to Kucinich's criticism
Sure sounded like a genius there didn't he.

'Obviously I was talking about those who were for the war..." or something like that. The guy doesn't even have the integrity to apologize to an honest criticism from a fellow Democrat. Dean eagerly jumps on the media dismissal train provided by the media (who I believe have a very real fear that Kucinich's language of breaking up the farm monopolies extends to them, as it should).

It just shows he's an opportunist. I swear, the real job of changing this country depends on whether people can change the support of Dean, Kerry, and Clark supporters who are embarressed to change their respective candidates because of social ineptitude.

Kucinich for president!

He's the only one saying anything!

Good day :)

10. With all due respect...
... I really admire Kucinich. But the reality of the situation is that he's below Sharpton and Braun on the polls. He won't win. He can't win. No matter how much we hope and wish it were otherwise, there comes a time when one has to face up to reality because in any battle between fantasy and reality, reality will come out on top.

4. You'll like this then.
That last line is a killer.

Statement by Rep. Major Owens on Howard Dean's Leadership

Congressman Major R. Owens of New York issued a statement today responding to an attack on Howard Dean by Rev. Al Sharpton. He joins Rep. Jesse L. Jackson of Illinois, who also made a statement on the matter.

Rep. Owens said:

"Al Sharpton is working hard and doing a good job of pushing for a Democratic Party agenda with a full inclusion of the issues that matter most to African Americans and working families. If media exposure was his only concern, he would do better by running in the General Election as an Independent. But Sharpton has chosen not to be a spoiler. His bottom line is the same as mine -- retire George W. Bush before he totally wrecks our democracy.

"To achieve our common ground goal of a Democrat in the White House, Howard Dean is the only candidate with a clear enough vision combined with toughness and independence. With respect to African American concerns, Dean starts with an evolving slate. The "doors of his church" are wide open to a broad spectrum of African American leadership. After his election, Howard Dean can be expected to bring into his circle of new national leadership more Black leaders than any of the other candidates. He has this flexibility because he doesn't owe the establishment any dues.

"And no one should go forth with the mistaken assumption that the vital issue of war and peace is not important to the African American constituency. When the Congressional Black Caucus members overwhelmingly voted against the waste of 87 billion dollars in Iraq, they were expressing the will of the people in our neighborhoods who insist that our needs be met here at home first.

Our people, our rank and file is already with Howard Dean. Black leaders must run to catch up."

7. Good for the Daen camp!
Whoever is the Dem nomenee is going to need a tough, razor-sharp, and eloquent response team to deal with the inevitable slime-alanch that Karl and the gang are going to unleash. I remember saying something a while back about needing a "junkyard dog" approach to the lies and slurs dropped on the campaign trail. Looks like Dean is taking that approach.

8. Very good for Dean...he has a great team...
I will say that his team hands down seems to have a system that works. That is one thing that I fault for the other 8 democratic candidates. Their teems move very slow to respond to just about everything.
