Hypocrisy alert - WTAM vs the SpongeBob bashers
Yesterday, on the drive home, I heard the fill-in for Triv on WTAM-1100 Cleveland.

They were having a riot with the "SpongeBob-bashers" story.

One caller tried to spin it. She claimed that she had watched some TV coverage (can you say Fox? I knew you could!) and the issue was "not that they were bashing SpongeBob, but the note on the video producers' website which alluded to the 'tolerance' issue". It was funny to hear the DJs reading back, several times, the spokesperson's complete quote, which directly contradicted the caller's attempt to not look like a total dumbf*ck.

Long ago, I signed up for their forums (under a different name, this is my current residing area). Today, I posted something to the effect of "To those people who think that the SpongeBob controversy is a bunch of lunacy, remember this: These are the people who believe that they had a mandate from the Gay Marriage issue."

I will check back later to see if there are any intelligent responses amidst the RW flames that constitute most of the posting.

1. Sponges and Christians have a long history of bad blood between them
Matthew 27:47-50
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

Yes, that's right. It wasn't the Jews. It wasn't the Romans. It was a sponge that killed Jesus.

2. Did you see the GD thread a few days ago....
It was titled: First they came for Bert and Ernie. You should use it in your reply too.

If I knew how to insert it as a link, I would. Instead I just cut/pasted it below.

First they came for Bert and Ernie

...and I said nothing because I was not a Muppet.

Then they came for Tinky Winky, and I said nothing, because I was not a Teletubby.

Then they came for Sponge Bob and Patrick, and I said nothing, because I was not an asexual cartoon sea creature.

I'm just wondering who'll be the next target of the Righteous Conservative Wrath Against Imaginary Creatures...

3. Yeah, I saw that. Thought it was funny.
But I didn't want to short-circuit these RW brains by making them think too hard.
