O_o Just heard Shell commercial on AAR?
surreal... o_O

was it just me, or did i just here a 'kinder, friendlier, pseudo-PSA' commercial about 'environmentally concerned' Shell?

Somewhere in the past 1/2 hour... midway through the 2nd hour of Randi Rhodes, listening online on PC? Utterly bizarre. I thought my ears were deceiving me. Shell?

Um, well, that's some serious money for that advertisement, i can only imagine. Am I the only one that heard that?

Putting down the honey Bunches of Oats... probably laced with ergot infected rye or something...

1. No, me too...You know? at this point I am almost ready to sell
my soul for a radio station. Or is that "shell" and not sell?

2. Hahaha, that joke is a little too close to the truth :)
hahaha, yeah, that's kinda what my reaction was like.

but then i think back to the Book of Wisdom according to Moby. he was asked why did he 'sellout' his songs to those big corporations, especially those products that he didn't agree with. he replied that those companies would have gone over and done it anyway, with or without his approval. he could either say no and then watch as the companies use the 7 seconds rule and rip-off bits of his songs, have a starving artist do a hackneyed job recreating it, and use what they wanted to anyway - or - he could say yes, take their money, and use it to fund agencies and charities that actively work against said companies. he wisely chose the latter.

3. k, don't mind me, just not used to hearing real commercials on AAR
just heard a Cool Whip ad and a Toyota Camry ad. and once again i reacted with incredulity. obviously it's just me, they must be finally trasmitting commercial ads on internet broadcasting and i'm just not used to it.

surprising how quick you can get used to something. for a moment there i was used to a life without ads on the radio... talk about a psych-experiment.
