How do I motivate myself?
Seriously? IBM did their little thing...I just got my statement, of what my new salary will be, minus the 15% cut...and again, I was assured, if I work overtime, 10%, I won't see any difference in pay...and if I worked 20-30 hours a week overtime, I'll actually get more money (won't have a life, but whatever)...but how do I motivate myself to be productive and to care about this company now, since basically, 4-5 years of raises, just got wiped out?

And of course, to top it off, I was/am in the middle of applying for mortgage...curious, how this will impact that process.

Just had to vent.

1. An across the board wage cut so they could pay
back overtime to the part of the workforce they'd stiffed for years seems incredibly unfair.

I think it should have come out of their executive salaries and bonus packages.

I also think it might be time to look for another job.

To hell with 'em.

2. I Was Demotivated Long Before You: Damned If I Know!
Just too stubborn to die and give them the satisfaction, I guess. I live in the cracks, like a lot of the demotivated do. Hold on as long as you can, save every penny, and refuse to participate in the great Consumer Clipping that is our BushWorld economy.

3. Give yourself a deadline say, 4 months or 6 months....
Then work every bit of freakin' overtime you can humanly muster. Take every bit of money from them you can, sock it away, then quit.

Look for a job in the mean time if you can.
