outsourced jobs .83M for this year
Forrester Research, the most conservative estimate on outsourcing
of jobs (and of course industry tries their best to hide the numbers)
just revised their estimate to .83M for this year of Americans
fired and replaced with cheap foreign labor.

2. There are worse estimates
I've seen estimates as high as 3M outsourced jobs already. (2001-2004)

Personally I believe the Lou Dobbs tally which is about 1M-1.5M...
but that doesn't include the Americans fired and replaced with
cheaper foreign labor on H-1B and L-1 Visas.

Lots more info on our website but this was pretty substantial
press release by Forrester for they are the most conservative
of the lot (and sell a lot of research to multinationals just to note)

3. follow up Silicon valley
story released that the entire engineering workforce dropped by 20%
since the dot bomb.

This is extremely serious folks...a society that doesn't support
it's engineers and scientists is doubtful of a secure (both in
defense and economic) future.
