1. Those are small European sedans, I'd love to see the first
picture re-done with SUVs.

2. Time after time, traffic engineers discover that building more roads ...
leads to MORE traffic. Then public & politicians push for more roads, to "relieve traffic congestion"... planners take their blood pressure medication, and count the days to retirement.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

4. Even worse
here in Texas it becomes a money making opportunity and they push toll roads to relieve the aggravation.

3. To be fair...
The count appears to be one person per car.

I count at least 64 cars which can carry more than one person each.

Other than that, I must agree that we need to finance more public transportation.

5. Public Transportation has been marked for destruction
in the US since the 30's. Big cars and Big Oil are the way of the future. :sarcasm:

7. To be absolutely fair, make it 4 people per car, and the left picture ends up...
with 16+ cars, which is still significantly more space needed than for one bus.

Besides, in reality, DO cars carry more than one person each? It's mostly one person per car...

6. To move a 175 pound person around in a vehicle that weighs 3500 pounds...
is such a waste of energy. However, we are all hooked on this moving-dead-weight-around mentality I wonder if it will every change.
