U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman Neil Sheehan said the nature of the problem won't be disclosed to the public because of security concerns. It occurred in February and was serious enough to warrant increased inspections of Entergy Corp.'s (ETR) security at the Vernon, Vt., reactor.
"We don't talk about the findings," Sheehan said. "Whenever it's related to security, it's serious."
The issue was identified by the company, and appropriate actions have been taken to address it, he said.
