different consumption rates shown (12, 15, 19, 22, 24 and 30 mpg shown.
Just to give you an idea what the cost of gas is for someone driving 13,000 miles per year.

I worked up this chart to give you an idea of just how much difference a few miles per gallon can make over a few years.

YOu can change the miles driven, the inflation rate and the miles per gallon inputs if you want to see what the numbers are for your car and your driving habits. (the areas in green are user input areas).

read and weep - I did!

1. Very Nice
Thank you.

It really adds up quickly at these prices.

2.  I'm not sure if I have read this correctly.
But if I did, it is the difference between being able to pay for public college tuition or not.

3. Yep! ordinarily we don't think about what a few mpg amounts to over the long haul -
but as you can see it really mounts up. Kinda blows your mind.

Also, note I just put 10% inflation in as a guess. You can change that up or down along with mpg and miles per year to fit your own situation.

4. Crikey! If I knew I was saving that much money, I'd have bought a more expensive bike
(actually, I wouldn't because sooner or later, they just get stolen).

And that spreadsheet doesn't include maintenance, interest for people who have payments- or insurance.

I'll that in mind every time some sucker acts like an idiot in their hulking SUV.
