Solar lighting
I work for a catalog company, and we frequently sell a variety of outdoor solar lighting. Today, the thought occurred to me: where are all the indoor solar lamps?

While I realize that it is more practical to power outdoor lights with solar power most of the year (easier to get enough sunlight to charge the cells), I'd have to imagine that in the summer there would still be enough light inside during the day to charge up a cell. Does anyone know of anyone who has converted an outdoor solar light to indoor summer use? How about plans to make your own?

1. I think there isn't enough light indoors to recharge the battery
I thought about doing the same thing for night lights so I brought one of our old solar lights indoors to check it out and nope not enough light. But you give me the idea to maybe put the charger part on the roof and run a wire to the light in the house to see if that would work. Prolly won't bother with doing it though as the effort would be more than it would be worth, in my estimation. On the other hand if I was living off grid I might would do that very thing.

2. I was thinking something along those lines
Or maybe just mounting the solar charger to a window, then running a wire to the light.

3. I just remembered to bring one in too see how much light it put out
I am surprised as how much light they give. From now on when the power goes off in the night I'll be traipsing out into the yard to pick up a couple of the solar lights. This one I just tried puts out more light than a candle does and plus it isn't a fire hazard.

Thanks for the idea :-)
