GasHole: Interesting film on oil economics and alternative fuels
Edited on Wed May-28-08 05:16 PM by dragonlady
Today on Wisconsin Public Radio I heard an interview with the makers of a new documentary. From their website, here is a synopsis of the film:

What are the causes that led from America turning from a leading exporter of
oil to the world's largest importer? What are the economic and sociological
forces that have contributed to that change and impede its solution?

The film examines many different potential solutions to our oil dependence.
Starting with claims of buried technology that dramatically improves gas
mileage, to navigating bureaucratic governmental roadblocks, to evaluating
different alternative fuels that are technologically available now, to
questioning the American Consumer's reluctance to embrace alternatives.

If you buy gas, you should see this movie!

The film's website lists the schedule of premieres in many cities around the country The filmmakers will appear at each premiere and answer questions along with the showing. For example, tonight they are in Albuquerque. Special events will be included in some places.

You can also listen to the rebroadcast of the interview at 10 pm CDT over the Internet at http://wpr.org/webcasting/live.cfm (under Ideas Network). It was a very interesting hour.
