Industrial Hemp
---

You'd think now that a "Radical Leftist" is President along with all those "Liberal Dems" in Congress we would be growing the stuff for paper, clothing, fuel, and building material by now.

2. An old friend was telling me that
the cloth made from Hemp would soak up the oil real fast because of the makeup of that certain plant. I would like to do a study on that, he sounded so logical!

3. It's a vegetable fibre that's very much like linen
I've tried spinning it and come up with some nice twine. Even linen has to be processed after spinning and weaving to make it soft enough to wear. Hemp by itself is probably less absorbent than cotton would be, although once it's been commercially spun and processed into clothing, it's pretty good at wicking moisture away from the body, although less so than stuff like polypropylene.

I'm afraid there's nothing particularly magic about hemp fibre as opposed to the other fibre choices we have.

It's just monumentally stupid not to be growing this very important crop and taking the pressure off our forests for producing wood pulp for paper and off the environment for producing oil for plastic and other uses.

End the drug war NOW. Start growing industrial hemp NOW.

4. Why thank you very much, Warpy!
I agree, we do need to start growing and using the many benefits of industrial hemp!
