November Dirtiest Month For Beijing Air In Six Years - Shanghai Daily
BEIJING has experienced medium or heavy air pollution in the past seven days, and last month became the dirtiest one in six years, Beijing Youth Daily reported today.

"Slow winds failed to help disperse pollutants in the air," said Du Shaozhong, the vice director of the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau.

He said boilers, which emit pollutants, began working on November 15 and vehicle exhaust worsened the situation.

The bureau plans to control pollutant emissions from vehicles, chemical plants and boilers.

1. People light up a cigarette to get some cleaner air in their lungs.
I've heard that joke by Beijingers explaining why so many them smoke.
