How does US air quality laws compare with other countries?
Ok, I know I shouldn't even try to give a freeper the benefit of the doubt but had one claimed..."....the United States has the most stringant laws in the world when it comes to air quality"

Well this is the first I have heard of this. Especially since Shrub has been relaxing said laws since he went into office.

BUT, to be fair, I decided to look. Is there any basis for this claim at all? How does the US compare for laws on air quality?

1. Not to diminish your point, but we breathe air that was polluted in
China... so, unless we can erect 200,000 foot high walls.... it really doesn't matter what our standards are if we feed the economies of countries that don't even know that there are standards.

2. yes which is why...
I asked about laws and not neccesarily air quality itself.

And this freeper trapped himself by saying "stringent laws".
