Solar Bus seeking items for project

The Solar Bus (http://solarbus.org) is an educational project that demonstrates the uses of solar energy in public settings. We go to many festivals and events throughout the summer and set up our demonstrations. We often go to events and use the photovoltaic system on board to power the event - usually either a public lecture, rally, film festival or concert. We also go to schools.

Everywhere we go, we turn people on to the idea. Rather than talking or writing about it, we SHOW people. We find this way people really "get it." When they hear the music coming out of the speaker and they know it is solar powered, they don't have to be convinced that solar energy really works.

We feel we could take this project to the next level if we had our own sound system and movie projector. Currently we have to "tag along" and supply power to other people's events. If we had our own sound system and movie projector, we could organize our own events. We could take the Solar Bus on the road more and go from town to town, showing solar powered films (that we choose, rather than ones that other people choose). We can set up more solar powered concerts rather than being an adjunct to previously scheduled concerts. And so on.

We are looking for a kind soul who perhaps is upgrading their video projector and would consider donating their old one to our project. As well, we are looking for a PA sound system that would be suitable for small/medium public events and concerts. We have the solar power, we just need the projector and PA.
