Czech Republic Calls In Army To Handle Toxic Industrial Site - AFP
Czech regional authorities called for a special army unit to help deal with a toxic cocktail of chemicals found stored on an industrial site near the town of Prelouc, about 190 kilometres (115 miles) east of Prague.

"We will ask for the army to send its chemical brigade ... which can carry out checks on all the substances, whether they are toxic, radioactive or otherwise," said the deputy governor of the Pardubicky region, Roman Linek.

Hundreds of tonnes of the chemicals, some of which have been provisionally identified as cyanide, were discovered on a former industrial site. The discovery followed an explosion which resulted in one person being taken to hospital.
