Ozone hole may have reached record size
The ozone hole over the Antarctic is growing at a rate that suggests it could be headed for a record size this year, Australian scientists said on Friday.

A study by Australian Antarctic bases attributed the development to colder temperatures in the stratosphere where the ozone hole forms.

"The growth at the moment is similar to 2000 when the hole was a record size," Australian Antarctic Division scientist Andrew Klekociuk said on Friday.

1. Oh goodie!
Now I can plant those palm trees I've always wanted at my NO VA home!

All I keep hearing is that this summer wasn't as hot as last summer. All I know is, it is too hot to take the baby out during the day, and there are too many mosquitoes at night. We are chained to this little house until fall I guess.

2. Why People Don't Believe!
I don't understand why that Americans do not believe we are
in a crisis situation concerning the Ozone?
The people living on Earth continue to pollute our air, water and soil.
The U.S. has tried to lower the amount of pollution but most nations
of the world are going right on with massive emissions which is burning a hole in the Ozone.
Factories, vehicles, etc. could be made much more efficient. Our
descendents will have to deal with a real crisis on down the road.

3. Oh Surely Not! World Net Daily Disagrees!
I shouldn't be surprised if the ozone hole is still growing. Even if the causes for its growth are being brought under control, it will still take a while for the damage to be repaired.

By the way right-wing extremist World Net Daily reporter Joseph Farah still insists that "liberals" were lying about damage to the ozone layer.

As if we needed any more reasons as to why a right-wing administration making decisions more based on ideology than science and vehemently denouncing those who disagree as "commies," "traitors, "and "liberals."
