A close call in Iraq-true story
The little girl who grew up across the street from my mom's house,a cute little blond named Julie has become a women with a husband in Iraq.Julie who is my daughter's best friend and calls me daddy told my Jackie about her young husband being on patrol when a bomb went off killing the girl on point and shrapnel slicing into the neck and chest of the boy in front of him.He told "Doolie"he stood completely frozen and by God's grace didn't get touched.I'm sick of this war I'm sick of Bush I'm mad at the bastard for doing this to our young men and women for fucking politics and some sick family vendetta.
Yesterday I was taken to task when I said I don't want any more prison pictures released for the sake of troop safety-I still don't.Some good points were made, some saying the Iraqis already know first hand what is going on-all in the name of "freeing them".Yea freeing them from this mortal coil.I blame George W.Bush,Richard Perle(who just may be Satan himself)Paul Wolfowicz,Dick Cheney and Tom Delay's lockstep republican minions in the House of Representatives for this.I want Bush and his cronies out of office in January 2005.I want to get back to work and John Kerry needs to be elected for better times to come back.

1. The girl on point?
As far as I know, they don't allow women in the Infantry, and they are the only ones who walk point. Meaning, being the lead person on a combat patrol.

This is not to say that this tragedy didn't happen, but if it did it most likely was in a non-combat situation.

4. Yes as a matter of fact I do value accuracy
Because when someone makes inaccurate comments, it negates the whole meaning of what they said, even though what they said may have validity. Plus it makes the rest of us look foolish as well.

Women don't walk point in the US Military. Period. That was the point I was trying to make.

I acknowledged that a tragedy may have occured, and certainly numerous women have lost their lives in this mindless quagmire. If this is the point you are making then I agree.

5. Women MPs
There are women MPs, and MPs can go on patrol, so its certainly possible that a women could have been killed as the person on point.

7. A combat patrol vs a police patrol
In a combat patrol the person walking point is the most exposed, this is the most dangerous job title in the US Military. I don't care who you are or what you are doing, no one else has a riskier job.

Let me emphasize again, THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS JOB IN THE US MILITARY!!!!!!! The Military doesn't allow women to perform this task.

It is constant unrelenting terror, every step you take could potentially be your last. Police patrols take place in pacified areas. Yes they can and are subjected to ambush just like a combat patrol, but they are not expecting to walk into hell, a combat patrol is.
