Anger over cameraman killing
http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,6999218%255E1702,00.html

STEPPING on an American flag laid out as a doormat, mourners lashed out at the United States today at the wake for a Reuters cameraman killed by US soldiers in Iraq.

Mazen Dana, a 43-year-old Palestinian, had spent much of his professional life covering another flashpoint, his hometown of Hebron.

On the job, he was shot and beaten several times by Israeli troops, and acknowledged the risks of working in one of the most volatile areas of the West Bank.

Dana, a father of four, was shot and killed by US soldiers yesterday while videotaping near a US-run prison on the outskirts of Baghdad.
Overnight, the family laid out an American flag as a doormat, for visitors to step on to express their anger.

About 200 friends and colleagues marched through Hebron, holding photos of Dana and demanding that more be done to protect journalists.

Some held signs saying "Don't kill the truth" and "The occupations kill journalists in Iraq, Palestine".

1. "They are crazy"
"We were all there, for at least half an hour. They knew we were journalists. After they shot Mazen, they aimed their guns at us. I don't think it was accident. They are very tense. They are crazy," said Stephan Breitner of France 2 television.

2. Iraq has become America's West Bank and Gaza
I only pray we don't decide to start murdering peace activists too, like Israel did to Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall.

3. Was it proven to be murder?
I don't recall seeing that verdict. Where did you read that?

4. It is indeed difficult to justify crushing young girls with bulldozers

And those who are charged with defending it do the best they can under the circumstances.
