3 traders tortured, murdered - Fiji

Fiji tightened security at its airports and harbours on Saturday after the discovery on Friday of three murdered Chinese traders and a Fijian security guard, said a police official.

Police gave few details, but local media said the Chinese traders appeared to have been tortured to death, with one man having his hand cut off and his body partly burned.

Two other bodies were in a cold storage at a fish factory. They had apparently been killed with a spear gun.

The Fijian security guard had been shot in the head.

Police spokesperson Mesake Koroi said: "We are looking at all angles of the story as we are at the initial stages of investigations," he said.

Better keep an eye on this one! Could be the Afghan heroin coming through? Could be just animal parts for Chinese medicine too. But the story doesn't say what nationality the Chinese are!
