LITHONIA, Ga. -- DeKalb County Police are investigating a shooting in Lithonia that left one person dead Monday night.

According to police, the person who was shot and killed tried to break into an apartment at the Concept 21 Apartments on Hillandale Drive. Somebody inside the apartment pulled out a gun and shot the intruder.

1. Way to go!

Being a Dem does NOT mean you have to become a victim. So reasonable people from all sides of the political spectrum should agree that defending oneself with a gun is an act to be applauded. We cannot rely on the government to protect us.

None of these are linked to the NRA. I thought only the NRA published such despicable acts of terrorism against these suspects. These suspects all deserved due process of law. :sarcasm:

Only heart-wrenching anti gun stories count. (Never mind that toddlers are 20 times more likely to drown in a tub or swimming pool than by an accidental gunshot.)

Counter examples and logic are unfair tactics.

4. How about bicycles?

Those things are dangerous as hell to little kids. Yet we continue to buy them and send our kids off onto the streets.

The CDC lists amazing statistics on deaths in the US. You can search by state, by age range, by method of death. In Maryland (my state) there has been 1 accidental gun death in a child under 12 during the last five years. I'm going from memory here based on the last time I checked. So on the list of dangerous things for kids, guns are actually way down on the list below car accidents, drowning, bikes, sports accidents, and other things.

Responsible gun ownership is safe.

It's the gun grabbers that are unsafe. If they had their way, it would put my life and the life of my family in danger.
