Mom arrested in kids' drownings

LAMAR - A woman who is suspected of drowning her 4-year-old daughter and 6-month-old son in a bathtub was arrested Saturday on two counts of first-degree murder and is on suicide watch at the Prowers County Jail.

Amaya slit her wrists and downed prescription drugs and wine in an apparent attempt on her own life. She was found unconscious in a bedroom at 5:40 p.m. Thursday when her husband, Leo Amaya, 45, came home from work. She was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, and was released Saturday afternoon.

1. Hey

Where was the gun? Without a gun the story is a bit bland. Maybe add a little twist to the story. Lets say the 2 kids have a cousin who is upset about the drowning and takes a gun to school. She holds the whole class at gunpoint killing 6 students and wounding 13. Thats the stories we wanna hear down here. Its a gun problem not a twisted society/war on drugs/economy problem.

2. Thought I'd mix it up a bit

I know no gun no story bit, but she did allegedly drown both her kids.
I was hoping to see people's reaction and what punishment they hoped for.
Next time I'll make sure at least a gun is used or a higher body count is at least achieved. :silly:

These guys ar so obsessed with guns that they see them even where there aren't any.

Wonder if this is similar to the Andrea Yates situation...It wasn't much publicized but Yates was in a sect that commanded that she be subservient to her husband....and was home-schooling her kids despite obvious psychological problems and depression.
