Like It Or Not.....
This, to many, many Americans, is the face of the NRA and of all who support RKBA. Unless we can convince them that the overwhelming majority of gun-owners are sane, peace-loving, and politically diverse (YES, some of us are actually Progressives!), they will continue to suspect every 2A supporter of being a possible/probable Nazi/militia/domestic terrorist wingnut.

2. idiot who wrote that. It's a khukri case, not a scimitar
don't see the khukri either. sorry, I have 3, they are from northern India, Nepal. "moslim divorce kit" my ass.

I'm not particularly a 2A supporter, or it depends on how it is defined, but know many people with guns and most of them are pretty normal people. Some are nuts, but so are some who have no guns and are very anti-owning any.

Fools who spout idiocies like most of that are, well, fools

5. With almost 80 million private owners...
I think it is safe to say that many Americans know someone who owns a firearm and so has the experience that not everyone who owns a firearm and supports the 2nd amendment is a right wing freak. Publications like the American Gun Culture Report show a liberal and left wing perspective to gun ownership. Unfortunately those types of publications are not mainstream and do not cater to the commercial aspect of ownership so they are not visible. Also unfortunate is that the way to show that there are normal people who own firearms is to do so quietly and inconspicuously. To people who have the view that people who own guns are all crazies, these gun shows and machine gun shoots are out there in their faces, while the majority of responsible owners are not blowing stuff up. The media will never show people who own guns in a neutral light because that is not sensational and does not sell airtime. We just have to continue to be responsible owners who stand up for the right in a rational way instead of reverting to the stupid tactics of the right.

6. In my experience its really its only a minority of folks who "suspect EVERY 2A supporter ...

...of being a possible/probable Nazi/militia/domestic terrorist wingnut."

But nevertheless, I joined the NRA this year in part to address similar concerns.

7. A little yellow journalism goes a loooong way.
Knob Creek is an event that draws the NFA crowd from all over the U.S.

8. The writer could have found
a few more of the German re-enactors, but I notice he left out all the US reenactors and their equipment. He didn't show any of the military vehicles that were there.

Everything on that firing line has a tax stamp, is legal and in the NFA registry.

Don't let the guy know about the Patton museum on Fort Knox, just a dozen miles south of the Knob Creek shoot. If he comes during one of their demos he can take pictures that "prove" Thorne Park on Fort Knox overrun by Panzers and guys in Afrika Korps uniforms.
