they have plans and tactics and have had for some time, and it wpould be very foolish of us to not take them at their word. The are planning for civil war, and they are planning to be the only survivors.

I know we have a lot of people who think they are all talk, but read the papers and read history - they are preparing for civil upheaval on a large scale.

We must take them seriously and prepare ourselves for it, too.

The first paragraph of that website talks about the One World Order and the Mark of the Beast...It's a safe bet that the writer is pretty fringe.

Certainly, those on the far American right are more likely to be the survivalist types, but your OP makes it sound like this is a major network of people working together to make sure that after the "Big One" only people of their politics will survive, so they can take over. Maybe I misread it, but that seems a little alarmist.

We should all be prepared to live off the grid for a while, a long time if we have to. Stuff happens. Things are definitely looking sad for society, mostly because of the economic system. I feel like we live pretty well in the U.S. compared to a lot of places, where an economic crisis still allows most things like electricity, a cell phone, internet access and so on; but I digress.

The more prepared people society has when a tragedy hits the better off we are. I'd like to see everybody prepared. Just because I don't agree with someone doesn't mean I want to see them dead or sick/maimed/starving, and most of my political views would be considered right.

I found this is their organization, Associated Bible Students of Central Ohio, and from what I could tell it is a branch of the above mentioned.

looks like instructions for someone preparing to hunker down in his home, have as little contact with the outside world as possible, and avoid detection by whatever nightmare may be coming down the pike. What was it you found so threatening here? Can you site something specific, or does disaster preparedness make you generally uncomfortable for some reason?

I found some of the info interesting. Currently I live in the center of a small town. I'm hoping to sell our home and move to the country.

What we would like to do is to get off the grid as much as possible. We have been looking into solar power and wind turbines to reduce our dependence on the power company. We are considering raising some cattle and chickens and planting a garden for fresh vegetables. We would like to buy a piece of property with a small lake and stock it with fish. We plan on some hunting as deer and wild hog are plentiful in the area we are considering.

Living in an area with potential hurricanes and tropical storms we already have a generator and usually have a stock of non perishable food.

My family already has an assortment of firearms, but if we move I might consider buying an evil looking "assault rifle" in a caliber large enough for hunting. A secondary use of such a weapon might be self defense, but that is not a large priority.

We are not a family that could be described as religious, so we don't buy into the "end times" philosophy. We also do not expect the total disintegration of our society to occur anytime in the near future.

To us, it just makes sense to own everything and owe very little. A large home mortgage and car payments make people wage slaves. For many years I have used credit cards to buy items, but I have paid off my credit card bill every month.

We are far from rich, but we survive fairly well. We would have more disposable income if we could become more self sufficient.

So to me a lot of the info in the site was interesting but I did find some parts that seemed a little far fetched. One example was:

Maybe I missed something as I really didn't spend a lot of time looking at the site, but it looks to me that these people will not be engaging in a revolution against our government but will be simply hiding out.
