9. They must have some really high curbs in Georgia
Is this genuine? I'm a bit skeptical that a police report would really contain something so transparent...

23. The police took the Marines testimony.
That was their story and they stuck to it.

3. If Best Buy does allow CCW, I will stop shopping there.
This was handled well without guns -- there could have been worse injuries, even deaths, had some idiot started shooting.

And think of the poor perpetrator who got so injured when he "stepped off the curb." Gotta be careful with curbs when assaulting marines. ;-)

13. You need to cross it off your list, then.
Also Conn's, Fry's, Discount Warehouse.. hell, I haven't seen an electronics store in Texas with a 30.06 sign.

Looks like you're never setting foot in another electronic store here.

Here you go- you can search here and any place listed there is on your 'approved' list-

is prohibited on their premises. Nothing about legal carrying not being allowed.

Never had any problems with it. In all my experiences with best buy they are very gun friendly.

They have no problem with carry, concealed or otherwise.

Back up you convictions. No matter what it costs you or how inconvenient. As for me, I think I will look to see how Best Buy handles CHLs.

5. Not every Best Buy has Marines out front.
I plan to CCW and the thought (or apparently the actual occurence) of some animal with a knife in Best Buy got my attention, therefore I asked if Best Buy allows CCW.

Do you know the answer about BB/CCW or just being a stick in the mud?

No, I will not call as I don't need a canned answer from some manager up to his neck in refunds.

6. I don't remember every seeing a "no-guns" sign on a Best Buy ...
in Florida.

But very few stores post such signs in the "Gunshine" state. Florida has had "shall issue" concealed carry since 1987. It's a very successful program.

Boy, the shoplifter sure suffered a lot of injury from just falling off a curb.

he was just trying to do some Christmas shopping:

Attaway also tried to steal two digital cameras, an Xbox game, a PS3 game and a PS3 game controller with a combined value of $1,365.

He's gotta make a living.

26. Here is a link to the Augusta Chronicle:
http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/crime-courts/2010-11-26/shoplifting-suspect-stabs-marine

A Marine collecting Toys for Tots donations at Augusta's Best Buy was stabbed in the back Friday while helping to subdue a shoplifting suspect.

Fellow Marines identified the injured man as Cpl. Phillip Duggan, 24, who spent part of Black Friday recuperating at Eisenhower Army Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Tracey Attaway, 39, of Waynesboro, Ga., was jailed and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a knife in the commission of a crime.

CONTINUED AT LINK

However, the Chronicle does not list the suspect's injuries. The Marine was very lucky. The knife just barely missed his spine.

36. Actually, the story is true....
...up until that last bit about the attacker having all those injuries. The Marines did in fact subdue the attacker (along with a couple of Best Buy loss prevention people) but no news accounts included any injuries to the attacker.

You can read more about it at that link.

46. After he drew a knife? I would have.
Back up and present the gun. If he lunges for me or a hostage, shoot until he drops. If he runs, let him go.

Spend some quality time with a counselor when it's all said and done.
