Actor shot dead in movie mix-up

A Mexican actor has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after he was handed a gun loaded with real bullets for an action scene and shot dead a colleague.

Flavio Peniche has been released on bail after the incident during the filming of The Scorpion's Vengeance at a hotel in Cuernavaca.

During the scene, he was supposed to shoot six people.

After firing what were supposed to be two blanks, he realised fellow actor Antonio Velasco had been wounded and the crew ran for help. Velasco died later in hospital.

2. Same thing happened in he movie 'Crow' I think the producers

set it up for publicity. Hey if Halliburton kills thousands...why not a movie production company kill one for publicity?

I took economics 101...it stated emphatically that if a profit could be made private industry would create it. It did not say...only good stuff....ANYTHING...I concluded at the time...even death and destruction if it created a profit..and as time goes by I think I have been proven correct!

3. The Crow incident actually WAS a blank

A blank WILL kill you if you point it at your head point blank (no pun intended).

There is a story I heard from an EFX guy that worked on Platoon. They did an EXTREME closeup of someone sighting a light machine gun and they used REAL rounds for the shot. Then the camera was moved back for the firing to begin, and only at the last second someone noticed that they had NOT switched to blanks! The gun was aimed DIRECTLY at the camera, DP and Oliver Stone!

a barrel-block was projected through the blank pistol into Brandon Lee's side, killing him.
