Guelph—A controversial fundraising poster featuring eight provocatively clad, gun-slinging female police officers is drawing fire.

The poster, with the caption "Girls with Guns Target Breast Cancer," is a fundraiser for breast cancer research but that message is lost, detractors say, in images of sexy, heavily armed officers.

"There they are sporting guns as if it's a fun thing to do," said Dawn Reynolds, a family therapist in Guelph who is offended by the poster.

Linking sex and guns...

I always thought linking violence and sex was considered pathological and something to be avoided or treated.

Hmm.. after a quick google, it seems that there's a whole genre of pornography depicting women with guns....

I am a gun owner and an avid shooter...but the "sex appeal" of guns seems a little sick to me, too.

WOuld you consider someone who finds this kind of pornograpy a turn on suitable to possess firearms?

I think preventing someone having access to their fetish BEFORE they act on it and hurt someone is a good thing... nothing you can do to prevent a molestation or rape after it's occurred.

I agree whole-heartedly. People who have abnormal sexual impulses should be identified and treated, treated as medical patients before they become criminals.
