20. So, you're saying....
that their endorsement is NOT the "kiss of death", right? Does that mean the bill will pass? I doubt it.

As he's strangled lots of other needed legislation.

But hey, you're the one rooting for Republican obstructionism.

4. Question:
after the AWB ban dies, what are they going to call weapons? Post-post-ban?

Anyways, what's going to happen to the resale value of weapons made and sold 1994-2004? They will actually be affordable!

5. I often wonder...
how long until the prices come down. Will it be instantaneous? Actually, I think the price will drop a few months before its death, because the sellers are going to want to get rid of them.

6. September 13, 2004?
But who's counting.

I think that's the date it expires.

The word is that the post ban stuff will be sold for basically the same prices they are going for now since all the changes were cosmetic, e.g. flash hiders, bayonet lugs etc.

The biggest change may be the availability and drop in pricing on pre-ban magazines.

In spite of the desire by some to inflame the public on this issue. Machine guns will not be available at Wal-Mart.

11. LMAO - VPC sells MrBenchley another steaming pantload
These "post-ban" guns incorporate features that are the essence of an assault weapon, design characteristics that make it easy for a shooter to simply point – as opposed to carefully aim – the weapon to quickly spray a wide area with a lethal hail of bullets. These design characteristics make assault weapons especially attractive to criminals and distinguish them from true hunting weapons....

OK, so "assault weapons" are not designed for accurate fire, rather to spew as much lead as possible in the general direction of human targets.

...A post-ban AR-15 clone manufactured by Bushmaster was used by the Washington, DC-area snipers to kill 10 and injure three in October 2002.

Now they're saying an "assault weapon" was used for careful, aimed fire.

And Benchley took it hook, line, and sinker!

They might develop into a radical new propulsion system for "Hotter Than Air" craft.

15. Hey, Slack
went to a range with my brother last week and rented one of their AR-15's (same as the M-16 except with an HBAR)

Put the sillouhette out to 15 yards and tried shooting from the hip. Blew 20 rounds and didn't cut paper once.

19. Tough to snap shoot with a AR
In basic (way back in 1969) they spent a week trying to teach us to "point shoot" from the hip with what they called the "Quick Kill" technique, using BB guns at first then going to our training issued M-16's.

Not one of the guys in my basic company was able to hit crap with the method and these were guys that shot every day.

The idea of "spraying deadly fire" from the hip with a semi-auto is more Hollywood than reality. But it does sound scary to people that have never fired a gun in their lives and are making decisions out of ignorance or poorly supported "facts".

Hey, like it or not, the tide is running very heavily against the VPC and their issues these days and the MMM group is gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brady cutting staff int he near future too.

38. Spraying bullets everywhere
From the hip with a AR-15. You will get carpel tunnel before you cause any damage. Notice how in the article they mention the Bushmaster used in DC. Of course the shooters did not spray bullets, but took aimed shots. But, it adds "scarry stuff" to the story.

39. AR15
The site system on the AR15 is adjusted to a grid coordinate zero on a target. If one isn't sited to you, it is not likely to be accurate.
