Did the media actually learn something?
from the chicago tribune....shhhhh, don't tell anyone full auto AK-47s and Uzi's were illegal before the AWB. I guess this is what happens when you listen the the Brady Bunch and Million Moron Marchers.

- An article Monday about the Million Mom March incorrectly reported that Uzi submachine guns and AK-47 assault rifles were included in the 1994 assault weapons ban. In fact, both those types of weapons were banned before the 1994 law, which prohibits the manufacture or importation of 19 types of weapons, including other Uzi guns and other AK-type assault rifles.

The Tribune regrets the errors.

1. The spelling of Terry Langworthy's name
as well as the outrage from the Gael Garcia Bernal fan club seems to have been just as important as this trivial bit of gun porn....

I applaud the Chicago Tribune for correcting their errors. All of them.

4. For you, I it would appear that way...
it doesn't matter if they are full auto or not, they are guns, therefore they need to be banned.

3. Printing an erratum does not necessarily mean they learned anything
Let's see how long it takes them to forget that machineguns and assault weapons aren't the same thing.

7. Another question is...
"Did the media actually learn something?"

Another question is, was it an anti-gunner who pointed out to the tribune's error to them?

What are the odds against that?

10. And conversely...
Who but the most rabid anti-gunners would believe "they know all they need to about guns"

Chuckle.

12. If...
being "triggerhappy" is defined as you used it, by wanting correct technical knowledge, articulated correctly, where there SHOULD BE correct technical knowledge, articulated correctly, perhaps your right.

I'd guess by that definition, theres alot of triggerhappy folk.

Better watch out, most of your neighbors are "triggerhappy"

Everyone who wants the truth about IRAQ, well, they must be triggerhappy...

I guess that would make most posters on DU triggerhappy.

By "playmates" logic, YOU, Bench are triggerhappy, though maybe just very selectively so.

Keep pimping the "know all they need to know" ...its quite funny.

13. In other words...it's less important than L-a-n-g-w-o-r-t-h-y
to most sane folks...
