Poppy & Big Dog
I'm not sure what happened--no TV & won't download a big file. But apparently something did occur.

Does anybody know the legal definition of assault and whether this incident conforms to it?

They were joking around and people keep trying to imply there was a huge fight.

There wasn't.

3 Presidents...

3 Yale grads...

If Kerry is tapped, that'll be 4 Yale grads in a row...

Now, just what is so special about Yale...

Hmm...

Very, very interesting... :tinfoilhat:

4. Sorry, I did not intend...
...my original post to be an endorsement for the "Skull And Bones" conspiracy theory, either.

3. Thank you.

The reason I asked about the Poppy/Big Dog incident, is that about 20 years ago I had a crazy neighbor. This woman would call the cops every time I used the vacuum, and believe me I never vacuum very much or very often. Eventually the police told her if she didn't stop they were going to penalize her for wasting their time with frivolous calls. But anyway, one day she knocked on my door, and I listened politely for a few minutes, then asked her politely to leave, and finished my vacuuming. (One room--it took me about 5 minutes and I did it about once a week.) Naturally, she called the cops.

The officer who knocked on my door said he'd taken a report from this woman, who wanted to press charges against me for assault. He explained that she had stated that I had touched her arm. He told me that even if I had touched her arm in a friendly and extremely gentle way, the mere act of touching her constituted assault, and she would be able to press charges. Since I hadn't touched her, I assured him of that fact and he left.

So, this is strictly a political issue. The woman in question turned out not to be so crazy after all. I was in a rent-controlled apartment, and she was trying to help the landlord force me out so that they could raise the rent.

If it was merely a matter of two good friends tussling, I wouldn't think about it any more. But since it is a Democrat and a Republican, I wondered if the definition of assault the officer gave me was correct, and if this incident met it. As you can guess, I'm pretty darned tired of the double standard, where anything a Republican thinks a Democrat might have done is justification to spend a few million on an independent investigator, but when a Republican actually commits unlawful acts, nobody seems to notice. I think the (s)election of 2000 showed that they are playing hardball, and I would hope that we have learned the game in the past 4 years.

7. Poppy's Hands WMD!

Where was My Man's Secret Service team when he needed them!!

They should have been there to tell PoppyPoop to keep his damn hands off of my Main Man! I don't like for anyone to touch him, he is to stay safe at all times.

Who knows what the hell was on Poppy's hands! And that slime son of his was looking the other way. He knew what Daddy was going to do and he was AWOL with his eyes so , as usual, he was "innocent."

Don't Mess With Bill!
Leave my Billie A Loooo ne!!

These Bushthugs are so dangerous. Poppy hands were Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Secret Service was not doing their job today!

9. Any unprivileged contact
can be defined as assault, just as the police officer described to you.

I was a jury member on a trial that dealt with just such an "assault."

8. I apologize for dumb thread

DU is so distracting that I'd completely forgotten for a moment that the Dems & pukes are really good buddies, and their common goal is to keep us locked into the 2-party system so that corporations can continue to rule the country. Where's my brain? :silly:

Anyway, I heard that the guy who tapped * for Skull & Bones has repudiated him and is now backing Kerry, so I guess our Bonesman for 2004 has already been chosen by the fraternity and all we have to do is send money and vote to make it official.

I've had high hopes for every Democratic president elected since the bloody coup when JFK was assassinated, but I'm too old to keep up such wishful thinking. Just because they're grown doesn't mean they're not still frat boys.

I'm voting for Kerry--he might not get us out of the war, but he'll see that our troops have bullets. That's good, right?
