Unarmed police shot at in UK (or don't bring a club to a gun fight)

"Scotland Yard said the gunman had shown �no regard for human life� when he fired on an officer and his colleague in Brockley Cross, south east London."

�This clearly demonstrates the utter contempt that some criminals show for the life of a police officer and this clearly demonstrates why we should now begin to fully arm the British police service.�

Of course the criminals got away.

Now the police want guns to defend themselves.
Before long, the citizens will want to defend themselves too.

Guns kill people a whole lot more effectively than knives do.

But that doesn't explain the differences in murder rate. If it was simply a difference in effectiveness, we would see an equal number of attacks, with the attacks ending in more murder in the US. But this is not the case, in fact, we have more knife homicides in the US per capita, that the the UK has total murders per capita.

And feel free to have a discussion wherever you want.
