Suicide bomber just hit an Israeli mall

Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigade are claiming responsibility for a bombing in an Israeli mall. While it is early, four are confirmed dead. Estimates say as many as 50 could be killed.

An explosion has hit a shopping mall in the Israeli coastal town of Netanya, causing dozens of casualties, emergency services say.

Israel's Zaka emergency response service said that at least two people were killed in the blast at the Sharon shopping centre, Reuters reported.

Police said that 35 people were wounded in the blast, seven critically.

militants return to Gaza

Several Palestinian militants who either fled or were expelled by Israel have returned to Gaza via the recently re-opened Rafah border crossing.
The entry of as many as 15 members of Hamas, including one of its founders, has angered Israel.

Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz has warned his government will close two crossings it controls if militants continue to enter via Rafah.

The crossings into Israel are vital for trade between Gaza and the West Bank.

At least five people were killed and more than 30 others were wounded Monday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at around 11:30 A.M. at the entrance to Hasharon shopping mall in Netanya.

A spokesman for ZAKA emergency service told Israel Radio that four people were in critical condition, four had sustained serious wounds and the rest had moderate to light wounds.

He said that the wounded had been taken to Laniado Hospital in Netanya and Hillel Yaffe in Hadera.

Islamic Jihad said that it had carried out the attack. An earlier claim in the name of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades was swiftly denied by the Fatah-linked group.

Honestly, whenever Israel relents and makes crossing teh border into Israel easier terrorists use that to cause more death and destruction.

israel is sitting on its northern border, an intl border...subject to hizballa attacks...and gaza, a agreed upon border...subject to missle and mortors attacks...its doesnt really give one much confidence that by giving up more territory the palestenians in the west bank wont continue to attack.

in fact it appears quite the opposite is most likly...

probably more stress on ordinary Palestinians as well. Also, it makes the withdrawal from Gaza look bad.

Every attempt by the Israelis to moderate and move toward a peaceful solution with the Palestinians is met by terror attacks. This only makes matters worse for everybody.

Friends in Israel report they're now concerned that the hardliners will have more ammunition to prevent further withdrawals and concessions that would make life and commerce easier for the Palestinians.

AAAAAARRRRGGHHHHHHH. This has been going on for years, increasingly since the Oslo Accords were signed. The death toll really soared after Oslo, instead of peace there has been nonstop war.

Four people have been killed and dozens wounded by a suicide bomb in the Israeli coastal town of Netanya, emergency services say.

An explosion hit the Sharon shopping mall in Netanya, scene of several previous bombings, at about 1130 (0930 GMT), injuring some 40 people.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades has said it carried out the attack.

The bombing came after Israel launched a rocket attack on Gaza, in response to Palestinian missile attacks.

The attack was the first suicide bomb in Israel since a blast at a market in the town of Hadera on 26 October.
