Kadima wins?

The Kadima party that Ariel Sharon started last year,won relection in the Isreali parlimentary elections yesterday,but not by the margin they wanted or needed. The surprise was how well Labor did. Labor was supposed to a distant second to Likud,abandoned by Sharon and now the party of Binyamin Netanyahu. Kadima took 30 seats,a majority,but below the 35-40 seats they were supposed to pickup. Ehud Olmert will continue to run the nation of Israel,in Sharon's place,and will continue the policy of giving land back to the Palestinians. Labor and the 3rd place party,Shas,will more than likely join the new Kadima majority government. Likud got only 11 seats in the elections,a crushing defeat of the former majority party in Israel. Apparently,despite the low turnout,the Israeli people are happy with the current arraingment and don't want a fence to wallout the Palestinians. One can hopefully wish that Netanyahu and his extermists policies will go by the wayside,and will hopefully be a harbinger to the right in this country in the upcoming immigration debate that fences don't not necessarily make good neighbors.

No talking to Hamas, until they renounce terror, and recognize Israel's right to exist. They Kadima should open talks.
