Western Galilee kibbutz closes its pool to Israeli Arab swimmers
From Ha'aretz, emphasis mine:

Arab families who came to the Kibbutz Kabri Beach Club in the past several days hoping to swim in the community pool were surprised when they learned they could not enter. Following Thursday's summer opening, the pool was turned into a private facility for "club members" only.

A young man from Kfar Yasif who asked to join was rejected on the grounds that only residents of a short list of communities were eligible to join the club.

--snip--

The list did not include a single Arab community despite the fact that there are several in the area including a few that are closer than some of the communities on the list. Arab villages in the area include Sheikh Danun, Mi'ilya, Abu Snan, Kfar Yasif and Jatt.

--snip--

"If it was important to the kibbutz to maintain a regional division, it could have at least permitted residents of the adjacent Arab communities to enter the pool."

Some of the families expressed fears the closure of the pool to Arabs will set a precedent for other kibbutzim and communities in the region who maintain pools now open to the general public.

Balad chairman MK Azmi Bishara asked Attorney General Menachem Mazuz this week to reverse the kibbutz decision on the grounds that it is motivated by racism.

3. Muslim delegates said scotching Israel's bid to join Red Cross
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 05:46 PM by Behind the Aegis
GENEVA - An attempt to end Israel's long isolation from the Red Cross humanitarian movement hit a snag Tuesday as Muslim opponents used procedural moves to block progress at a decisive international conference, delegates said.

The International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, which opened Tuesday and is expected to conclude Wednesday, is being asked to approve changes to meet Israeli demands of almost six decades that it be granted full membership without using the cross or crescent to identify itself.

But Red Cross officials hosting the conference confirmed that the meeting's validity had been challenged. They declined to identify the delegation that filed the motion because the session was being held behind closed doors.

"At the moment we've hit a rock, so things have ground to a halt," said Ian Piper, spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross.

2. Israelis, however, have no qualms about taking water from Arabs.

4. And Arabs had no qualms about constant attacks against Israel...
...then run whimpering to the UN when they got their asses kicked, in order to garner international opinion against Israel.

5. "Israel" is a nation. "Arabs" are an entire group of people.

:sarcasm:

Perhaps it would have been better to write out all of the Arab nations that has/have attacked her? Would that appease you?!

On edit: Perhaps you should read the post I was responding to, and be sure to educate him as well. :eyes:

10. No qualms at all:
Activists say settlers sabotaged efforts to assist Palestinians

<snip>

"Three Israeli peace activists claimed on Saturday they were assaulted by a group of Jewish settlers at the village of Hirbat Tuwana near the West Bank city of Hebron.

The peace activists say 15 masked settlers tried to prevent them from delivering water to the local Palestinian residents.

"Some 15 masked youths suddenly appeared just as I was finishing to fill the well. They threw the hose out of the well, closed it and claimed the water was theirs alone," Yoel Maharshak, a top peace activist, said.

Maharshak said their activities were coordinated with the IDF which sent 10 soldiers to escort them.

He complained, however, that the allocated soldiers did nothing to stop the settlers and were allegedly seen conversing with them."

9. I think some would...
As to yr question, Israeli Arabs aren't part of the I/P conflict, like Israeli Jews and Palestinians are? Of course, next time one of those articles about an Antisemitic incident anywhere else in the world appears, I expect you to be there asking 'what does this have to do with the I/P conflict?' ;)
