Al-Aksa claims chemical capabilities

The Aksa Martyrs Brigades announced on Sunday that its members have succeeded in manufacturing chemical and biological weapons.

In a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip, the group, which belongs to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah Party, said the weapons were the result of a three-year effort.

According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group has managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons.

The group said its members would not hesitate to add the new weapons to Kassam rockets that are being fired at Israeli communities almost every day. It also threatened to use the weapons against IDF soldiers if Israel carried out its threats to invade the Gaza Strip.

I find it interesting that they're making such a claim, and upping the heated rhetoric.

It takes serious creativity to up the ante in any manner anyone would notice.

The polity of Arab Palestine hovers at the edge of civil war, and many of the more violent factions doubtless perceive the current among the people is not trending towards them. Exaggeration of their power is a natural response in such a situation: if people think "wonder weapons" are available, they may be more inclined to cling to the hope of a solution through violence and victory, and the possesor of such tools would be the most prestigious group on the scene.

It's difficult to find any of it particularly interesting, imo....

then israel has every right to defend itself. especially since the al aska murder brigade threatened to put the chemical/biological weapons on kasaam rockets and launch them into israel proper.

Why you should feel there is any questioning of a state's right to defend its citizens in my comment escapes me.
