Israel Could Kidnap Half of Hamas Ministers: Israeli Minister
From AFP via Focus News Agency (never heard of 'em but I guess Google News has):

--snip--

“If we decide to start kidnapping Israel will have no problems into penetrating the Gaza Strip and kidnapping half the Palestinian government,” Benyamin Ben Eliezer said.

--snip--

Again, I don't think giving in to the dark side is a good idea.

7. Yes, the first 'private information agency'
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 11:40 AM by igil
in Bulgaria, according to the site, around since 2000. ("Фокус” е първата българска частна информационна агенция, която работи от юни 2000 г.)

Never heard of them. But I don't care about Bulgarian, or, really, about Bulgaria. (Did some gutenberg-eu Bulgarian stuff, though.)

Today they're adding that Israel's pushing into the West Bank a bit, something like 40 jeeps, targetting some Hamas leader. Or at least the building with a Hamas leader in it. (http://www.focus-news.net/?id=n515663 is the link, but it's Bulgarian.)

3. Will the current Hamas-led government ever recognize Israel's existence?
And not some half-assed..."we'll do it for this many days, in a leap year, with the moon in Scorpio, whilst a unicorn runs across the Gazan plains."

11. I think The Elected Government of Palestine in conjunction with
Palestinian President Mr. Abbaas agreed a document that for the first time agrees the existence of the state of Isreal...and which it states that the existence of Israel is no objection...and that Hamas government would recognize Israel with its borders prior to 1967.

12. Hamas resists Israel recognition

Hamas says all of Israel is built on occupied Palestinian land
Rival Palestinian political factions Fatah and Hamas have reached agreement on a common political strategy to try to end a damaging power struggle.

However, Hamas negotiators have denied earlier reports that the deal meant the militants would implicitly recognise Israel - a major policy shift.

The full text of the accord has not yet been released. A Hamas minister said it did not have "one word" on the issue.

15. The BBC have been threatened by the Israeli government time and again
many BBC reporters were taken out of Israeli/Palestinian assignment because they reported the truth outside of IOF' hearsay. The BBC looks good from outside, but afraid from inside...just like many news organization that critique the Occupational Forces.

8. Attorney: Targeted kidnapping necessary
From YNet News, emphasis mine:

Amnon Zichroni, who took part in past prisoners exchange deals on Israel’s behalf, says regarding Gilad Shalit kidnapping ‘as soon as we know which organization is behind the soldier’s kidnapping and who the organizations deems important, then we will know who to kidnap’; adds: Military intervention would be dangerous because soldier is injured

--snip--

Zichroni said Israel has attempted such targeted kidnappings in the past, such as in the Ron Arad affair.

“When I was involved in efforts to release Arad Israel kidnapped Lebanese guerilla leaders Sheikh Abdel Karim Obeid and Mustafa Dirani, and although the kidnappings did not bring about Arad’s release, they did help in obtaining information, he said.

--snip--

Lack of basis?

6. Israeli Jihad?
Yet both are the seed of Abraham. What happened to W's peace plan?

And, more interesting, why are we giving taxpayer dollars to both the Israelis and Hamas.

9. Agreed.
giving in to the dark side, as you put it, is a lousy idea. It's a lousy idea for Palestinians too. Sadly, while the Israelis may be threatening to kidnap Hamas figures, Palestinian militants have given in to the 'dark side' and captured two Israeli civilians. One is almost certainly dead.
