IDF soldier shot in head near Jenin
An IDF soldier was listed in moderate condition on Monday evening after he was shot in the head by a Palestinian sniper in Kabatiya, near Jenin.

The incident occurred after a Hummer jeep carrying soldiers flipped over. After additional troops arrived on the scene, a Palestinian sniper opened fire from the west, hitting one of the soldiers in the head.

A helicopter and doctor were scrambled to help stabilize the soldier. According to Channel 2, he received "intensive" treatment prior to being evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where he was reported in moderate condition.

1. No responses?
Gee, I wonder why. No big deal, he's just an IDF soldier.

What happened to the sniper? He's probably been given a medal for bravery now that he has hero status for killing a Jew.

2. now what kind of response do you want???
hmmm... since he was in the west bank as a form of oppressor you want folks to feel bad for him?
yeah its too bad he was riding around in a jeep on his way to shoot some palestinian kids. too bad he didnt get to shoot any rock throwing kids today. too bad. maybe israelis should get a clue and refuse to enlist so they can spend their youth hanging out with their friends on the beach in tel aviv.

4. Well, I expected a response like yours...
and you didn't disappoint. In the first place, snipers are cowards. Why didn't he show his face and at least give the soldier an even chance to defend himself. He wanted to kill a Jew, pure and simple and I call that murder. What did the soldier do to him? He was shot because he was there and he was Jewish.

I would rather the sniper be a suicide bomber exploding himself from a safe distance from innocent citizens. In that way, he would only kill himself and be martyred. Iran could send the family financial compensation and his picture could be plastered on the side of a building for all to see.

Now somebody is crying for a son, husband or father because some guy filled with hate wanted revenge.

5. I wonder when yr going to bother reading the article...

I really really wish you'd take the time to read the article before you post. The soldier was moderately injured and is alive despite yr attempts to say he's dead...

16. Then it was wrong.
I don't excuse anybody for killing an innocent. Unfortunately it happens, but if this was deliberate it was wrong.

10. if anything, what i would suggest is
many involved should reconsider the option to sign off their youth and lives to a solution which wont solve the problem.

-----------------------

if the american occupation of iraq were to last 40 years and during this whole time it is clear americans are not welcome would you advise your child to sign up with the army and patrol iraqi soil or find a different avenue?

11. Israelis are required to serve
National military service is compulsory for Jewish and Druze men, and Jewish women, over the age of 18.

3. I'm still too busy laughing at yr post...

That's strange. The article says:

'An IDF soldier was listed in moderate condition...'

Maybe it'd help if you read the article before you posted?

8. Just ludicrous.
It's not that I don't have sympathy for nearly everyone caught up in this terrible mess, but he is an occupying soldier. What part of occupation don't you get? Do you not believe it's an occupation? Do you not believe that the occupation is oppressive and causes great suffering to the Palestinians?

15. Quit putting words in my mouth.
I didn't say that I didn't believe it's an occupation and that people aren't suffering. I also believe that if the jihadists acting in the name of the Palestinians stopped the qassams and suicide bombers that Israel could pull back the occupation forces and peace talks could resume.

How many times has a ceasefire been negotiated and how many times has it been ignored by the Palestinian militants?

Don't you know that causes great suffering to Israel and because they're living in fear and uncertainty? The oppression works both ways. I believe most Palestinians want peace and it is their leaders who are failing to provide it.
