Netanyahu wants Iran president tried for genocide at the Hague
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 09:31 PM by Poll_Blind
I encourage you to read this particular article very carefully. From Ha'aretz, emphasis mine:

Likud chair MK Benjamin Netanyahu has summoned about 70 foreign diplomats stationed in Israel to a meeting next Tuesday, at which he will urge them to end their complacency and join Israel in an effort to halt Iran's nuclear program, which he says is aimed at genocide of the Jews.

The meeting is to be the first event in an international public relations campaign. It will include a proposal to file a complaint in the International Court of Justice against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for war crimes, and his plans to commit genocide will be presented.

The initiative will be presented by MK Danny Naveh (Likud) and Dore Gold, a former Israeli ambassador to the UN, both of whom flew to the U.S. this week for a series of meetings to promote the idea.

--snip--

Netanyahu says Israel must get the Americans to take action, not just with words but through an act of Congress.

Who did Ahmadinejad commit genocide against? I'd imagine the Jewish-Iranian Maurice Motamed parliamentarian would be very curious to know as well, especially after publicly slamming Ahmadinejad for insulting Jews not only in Iran, but world-over with his baiting of the United States and Israel.

There are also two points italicized in the text above:

...join Israel in an effort to halt Iran's nuclear program, which he says is aimed at genocide of the Jews.

So Iran's nuclear program, which hasn't even started yet, is anti-Semitic. This, specifically, is an example of The New Anti-Semitism in action. A particular country may not have a nuclear program, much less nuclear weapons, because the mere having them is anti-Semitic. When Ahmadinejad leave office, will Iranian nuclear programs still be inherently anti-Semitic? This is interesting to ponder the mechanics of. Iran has signed huge deals with oil-thirsty Russia and China. Ponder for a moment how they would react to such a move.

Next:

Netanyahu says Israel must get the Americans to take action, not just with words but through an act of Congress.

I'm not sure why the U.S. Congress needs to pass any laws about Ahmadinejad's intentionally-insulting behavior. However, is there any other reason why Neyanyahu would expect us to create legislation other than it would cause us to take military action against Iran? We have already removed ourselves almost entirely from the World Court, as Bush, Rumsfailed and a number of others would actually be guilty under the Nuremberg laws for starting a war of aggression, among other things. So why, specifically, the act of Congress?

Ahmadinejad may be an anti-Semite but he's no idiot. He is intentionally being as absolutely irritating as possible to the United States and Israel. I suspect that his focus on the Shoah and his inflammatory statements possibly have less to do with some intense burning desire to explore the subject publicly and have more to do with his new, very wealthy, buddies (Russia and China) who supply Iran (among many, many other countries) with high-tech weapons and are very much enjoying...wait for it...

Their utter economic domination of our country through the purchase of vast (hundreds of BILLIONS) of our federal debt. (Just in case you forgot)

By the way, Netanyahu will likely be the next PM of Israel after Olmert leaves. Also, something to consider.

This reminds me of the joke about the interview of two patients in a state hospital.

Doctor: Who are you?

First Patient: I am Jesus Christ. I am the Son of God.

Second Patient: How many times do I have to tell you that I am not your father?

...your anecdote, Bibi has better than even chance of becoming the next PM. That is, if Avigdor Lieberman doesn't beat him to the voters fleeing from Kadima. Unfortunately, Lieberman is even further off the deep end.

6. Not before Olmert, Sharon, and Bibi are tried first
I suppose that Israel's genocide in Palestine and Lebanon doesn't count. Only Christian lives count, and Christians need Jews to fulfill their apocalyptic prophecies (prophecies in which everyone that refuses to accept Jesus is killed, including Jews).
