U.S. confirms construction at Israel's Syria target
U.S. officials confirmed Friday that there is evidence of "recent construction" at the site in Syria that was the target of an Israeli airstrike last weekend.

Sources said U.S. intelligence picked up indications of structural improvements at the site, which they said a Palestinian terrorist group used as a training facility several years ago.

That group, sources said, was the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, whose leader lives in Damascus.

Sad news for those that did not want to believe the target was legitimate.

1. Is this conclusive?
Bush I insisted that there were Iraqi troops massing on the Saudi border, too, and now we find out that the satellite pictures really showed nothing. I don't have a great dealof faith in anything that begins with 'U.S. intelligence sources...'

2. Tell You What
When the Syrians start pouring over the Golan heights then it will become a legitimate target. Until then it's an attack against the territory of a sovereign nation, unless Israel has the courage to
make a formal declaration of war against Syria.

But I doubt it, Israel loves the role of being the one who is wronged.

And by the way this is the same US intelligence that couldn't figure out that 19 fanatics were going to crash planes into buildings, and can't seem to find any weapons of mass destruction. They also can't find two men, not a great track record.

4. A simple question for you
Is the word of Israel and America more reliable than Syria? I think you know the answer.

5. hell no
I can't think of anything off hand Syria got caught up in a lie about. Israel and the US on the other hand just got finished telling a mountain of lies about Saddam and his secret Pile O'Death in Iraq. I think you know the answer, also.

8. You mean like Colin Powell's
aerial photos of a "WMD factory" in Iraq that turned out to be an abandonded site, without even electricity, inhabited by squatters? And this "intelligence" was part of his UN presentation! Sorry, but any "evidence" produced by the Bush gang is worthless now. They've lost their credibility and it's not coming back.

3. Any target is legitimate when US says so

Israeli occupation of Syria will be a great help to achieving American military objectives in the region, and expedite Israeli settlements in Iraq.

7. US officials also confimred that Iraq posed an eminent threat...
when someone who isn't working for Sharon or Bush confirms it, perhaps I'll believe it.
