PA officials arrest three in connection with Gaza bombing
Palestinian police arrested three members of the
militant Popular Resistance Committees early
Thursday in connection with the roadside bombing
in the Gaza Strip the day before that killed three
Americans, Palestinian Authority security
officials said.

<snip>

The group consists largely of former Palestinian
security officials and disgruntled members of
PA Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, the
security officials said.

The three were arrested in the Jabalya refugee
camp, near the site of the attack. One of the
detainees was identified as Ahmed Saker, 25.

Palestinian witnesses said that when Palestinian
police came to Block 8 of Jabalya to make
arrests, a gun fight erupted. There were no
reports of injuries.

3. "Death cult"
Funny cause the neocons and their supporters on FR relate to Islam as the death cult.. I wonder if Drdon has that in mind as well..

4. Terror criminals
I suppose they're trying to say that this PRC "disgruntled members of
PA Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement" are criminals, as they left the main-guard. Why did they attack the US convoy rather than an Israeli target?

7. What a shock
On two fronts:

* One, wow, a bomb goes off in the Mideast and, shock, it appears to be Palestinian terrorists.
* Two, what they did was sooooooooo stupid (surprise!) that they even forced Arafat to take action just so he can deflect the damage this would cause.

You complain that they don't do anything, yet when they do something you still complain. What exactly are they supposed to wake up to?

Violet...

10. No, not quite right
You don't have it right yet, Violet. I'm not complaining that they arrested someone. HOK if those arrested were the main culprits or if they were the guilty ones. I guess we'll just have to wait for the trial to find out.

They should wake up to a number of facts. The first being that terrorism will get them nowhere. The second is that terrorism destroys their own oppostunity for peaceful co-esistence. If they wish to live with the rest of the world, they should get wise to this. They should put the fight against terror as the first priority.

12. Then you've got nothing to complain about in this thread...
They arrest someone for an attack and yr off and running going on about how terrorism will get them nowhere. I would think that anyone looking at this in a more balanced way would think making arrests is a good thing...

14. that's really remarkable
You really think it is in the best interest of Palestinians to actively safeguard the Israeli occupation as a 5th column?

Please try to fit some variation of "terror" into your posts with more frequency, that point is just not being pounded home enough.. :eyes:
The record that I've noted so far is Arutz Sheva with 11 times in a single paragraph.. can you top that?

30. Some history
Remember Camp David II and the Oslo Accords? Remember Wye River and the Taba Agreements? Remember Area A is under full Palestinian control and Area B is fully Palestinian administration? No occupation was necessary or even desired by Israel.

Please teach us more history, Gimel. When you give us history lessons, for some strange reason I get these warm memories of my grandfather relating to me the time when he caught the world's largest flounder. How he almost died trying to reel it in, and his boat almost capsized due to 40 foot waves all around!

No such organization called GOI. I'm not sure why you insist on using this.

Perhaps from now on I will summarize the endless Palestinian terror alphabet soup by calling them Palestinian Islamic Gangs or PIGs for short.

An important distinction to those of us who wish to
criticize the former without advocating destruction of
the latter or its citizens.

33. Well said, bemildred
I wish certain other partisans could see the difference between the Palestinian people and the Palestinian leaders and militants. Unfortunately, ... well, how can I put this. We who frequent the I/P forums are not all on the same page, are we.

35. The difference
Well, I think those of us who have issue with Palestinian terror WANT to see more difference. We want more stories where Palestinians stand up and be counted and STOP terror, not support it or tolerate it.

But until there are a lot of cases like that, then the only ones really speaking for the Palestinian people are the terrorists and the PA, which are basically one in the same.

since you're going to start calling Palestinian militants PIGs, how about the rest of us start calling the IDF the "Jewish Ultranationalist Gangs" or JUGs for short. Wow I really feel like we're accomplishing alot now, Muddle. We'll frame the debate from now on as "PIGs vs. JUGs"
