Ghajar was annexed in 1981 and its residents are Israeli citizens.

We were conquered by the State of Israel along with the Golan Heights and we all have blue identity cards.

In the divided village of Ghajar, they're building new homes as quickly as they can, worried that Israel will move the border and they will end up in Lebanon.

so here we have a situation where some/many of the residents prefer to stay in israel....where there is a democracy etc...and NOT live under the hizballa flag (they "own" s. lebanon), who dont have much use for democracy in the areas they control.

and yet i get the feeling that many "progressives" are far more "nationalistic" prefer nationalism over civil rights and feel that those residents should not have a choice of living in a democracy but be forced to live in non democratic society....

funny how that works
