Surrendering an Ally
Barack Obama has come up with an interesting strategy for dealing with the evildoers of the world. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Surrender your friends, if necessary.

He wants to make Israel, our oldest and only reliable friend in the Middle East, the guinea pig to see whether the strategy works. What appeared to be a minor flap between old friends only a fortnight ago now looks like an exploitable opportunity for the man who learned about who's evil in the world from a crazy Jew-baiting preacher in
He wants to make Israel, our oldest and only reliable friend in the Middle East, the guinea pig to see whether his strategy works
Chicago.

The public scolding of Israel and the warning that it must make nice with those determined to "wipe it off the map" are now revealed to be tactics in the plan to make the Middle East over in a way to please the Islamic radicals. The observant among us have seen this coming. America's true friends - Britain, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Norway and Poland in addition to Israel - have been getting the back of Mr. Obama's hand from the day he took his oath. The commitment to constitutional government and the ancient traditions of intellectual freedom that make up the cultural heritage of the West have been snubbed when not ignored, the natural allies of America lectured to when not insulted.

We're told that it's not nice, and maybe even racist, to notice that Michelle Obama, the elegant first lady who does so many things well, has cultivated her husband's talent for strategic snobbery. She once conceded that she only became proud of America when her husband got to the brink of the presidency, and in a remarkable video of a 2008 appearance that surfaced only this spring, she told of their visiting "his home country in Kenya." Unless she was conceding that she, too, is a "birther," she meant that Kenya is his ancestral and cultural home. This could explain a lot, and it certainly offers insights now into his determination to discard the Israelis in the affections of Americans and replace them with nations alien to the affections of most Americans. Why retain an emotional attachment to the sources of American law and literature when you could bow to the Saudi king and court the leaders of Iran, Syria and Venezuela?

Nothing would please the enemies and adversaries of America - the "outliers," in the trendy term of the moment - like putting the Jews in their place. Mr. Obama and some of his wise men, particularly in the State Department, which has traditionally looked for occasions to lend a hand to the Arab tormentors of Israel, now see their opportunity to impose a "settlement" of the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians. Mr. Obama finally put his game in play this week when he told a press conference that resolving the conflict was "a vital national security interest of the United States." Describing the conflict in these not-so-vague terms gives him the opportunity to prescribe any solution, however malignant or fanciful, just that way. The president, any president, must put the "vital national security interest" of the United States first and foremost. Who could argue with that?

5. Does the "Israel first at all costs" brigade ever tire of playing the victim card?

The fact remains, regardless of right wing Israeli colonialist whining, that Israel is in violation of international law regarding its illegal settlements on Palestinian land.

Further encroaching on that land is not a valid justification to cry about how Obama is being mean to them.

Rolling ones eyes that the Palestinians won't accept 60% of their own land back for starters (spare me that one please...it keeps getting lower ever time the offer is made) is not justification for further foot dragging by the hawkish Israeli PMs.

Until Israel realizes that it is better to cut the Palestinians loose, and I mean a demilitarized Palestine, then there will be little reason to continue playing their "everybody is against us" song."

It's time to grow up, Israel.

6. If we took the US out of the equation, Israel and the Palestinians will have no choice
but to either make peace or wage war on one another.

I believe the greatest obstacle to peace in the Middle East is the USA, not Bibi or Abbas or Hamas or what have you!

US should get out of the Middle East and cut off funding to all of the countries in that region.

7. Israel has been undermining Obama from the beginning, timed Gaza war to Election and Inauguration
On NOVEMBER 4 2008, U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION DAY:

Israel sent tanks and bulldozers into Gaza breaking a six-month ceasefire and triggering clashes along the Israeli-Gaza border until December 27 when Israel began a wave of AIRSTRIKES on the Gaza Strip damaging or destroying tens of thousands of homes, 15 of Gaza’s 27 hospitals and 43 of its 110 primary health care facilities, 800 water wells, 186 greenhouses, and nearly all of its 10,000 family farms; leaving 50,000 homeless, 400,000-500,000 without running water, one million without electricity, and resulting in acute food shortages. An Israeli ground invasion began on January 3, 2009.
1,400 Palestinians were killed, including some 300 children, and hundreds of other unarmed civilians, including more than 115 women and some 85 men aged over 50 during the 22-day Operation "CAST LEAD".

The war ended on January 18, when Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire, followed by Hamas’ announcing a one-week ceasefire twelve hours later.

Israel completed its withdrawal on JANUARY 21, the DAY AFTER OBAMA'S INAUGURATION.

We might have been celebrating the inauguration of the first African American president, a brilliant, young constitutional scholar and intellectual, the end of eight years of Bush Cheney quasi-fascism, torture, illegal wars, religious fundamentalism, financial thievery and environmental degradation... but instead violent ultra right-wing racist colonialists, subsidized by us, sent their bloody message and ruled the day.

And of course, the QUEEN OF THE BIRTHERS is an Israeli. I wonder what young African Americans think of the billboards of Obama in Nazi uniform currently standing tall on Jewish only roads in Israel.

8. Still testing the Mods eh?
Well it would appear that Arutz Sheva is still OK. Maybe you should move on and stop worrying about what the Mods find acceptable as a OP.

13. Not at all. I know exactly what's allowed and what's not...
Though I guess it must be pleasing to some that Arutz Sheva is considered an acceptable source, while Electronic Intifada isn't. Maybe you should mind yr own fucking business and stop worrying about what sources other people use as OPs?

11. The fact that the mods support posts from sources that are extremist and racist so long
as they are anti-Palestinian is a fact. The fact that they prohibit posts from sources that are far less extreme and racist but which are pro-Palestinian is another fact. Get used to it. It is how things work here. The fact that someone posts from an approved site without getting deleted, like every post on any forum, is evidence of what is allowed. The mods consider this site as useful as the others they allow. Get used to it. That is how things work here.

14. I'm not sure why the two in this thread who attacked me for the OP don't just alert on the OP...
After all, they either have a problem with the source itself, or maybe it's just me they've got the problem with. Either way, they should alert and save everyone else the annoyance of wasting a few seconds watching them lash out...

12. There's nothing petulant about posting an OP, so get over yrself...
Petulant is appearing repeatedly in new OPs I post and launching immature and unprovoked personal attacks on me. You don't control what other people post, so if you haven't got anything to say about the OP itself, how about you keep yr petty attacks to yrself for a change?
