Netanyahu: 1967 Borders Can't Be Defended
JERUSALEM (AP) -- Israel's prime minister has rejected a key aspect of President Barack Obama's policy speech, saying that a return to his country's 1967 borders would spell disaster for the Jewish state.

In a statement released late Thursday, Benjamin Netanyahu called the 1967 lines "indefensible."

The tough stand could set the stage for a tense meeting Friday when Netanyahu goes to the White House.

In his speech, Obama said a future Palestinian state must be based in territories captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war, with minor adjustments reached through negotiations.

1. Can't be defended?
Peace would be inconvenient.

2. And his objection to following international law re 1967 borders: indefensible.
Translation: no land to steal; give back much stolen land; and no "native" population to colonize.

3. Yes, disaster!
With 200 nuclear weapons.

I love this - it would "leave major West Bank settlements outside Israeli borders." Mr. Prime Minister? Do you mean the settlements Israel built on Palestinian land? Oh, no journalist can dare ask that!

What a joke.

4. Yes and no, but too bad either way.
Are the 1967 borders indefensible without Israel being prepared to launch a pre-emptive offensive as in 1967? Yes they are. That doesn't make them totally indefensible. It just means that if the Arabs even hint at attacking, Israel is going to be forced to attack first. So, okay, not the most stable situation.
But what would be defensible borders? Well the Jordan River line looks pretty good, but that kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? There's no good answer that accomodates both sides legitimate concerns. So Obama is right that the line should be the Green line with minor adjustments.

5. When will the hypocrites cease defending bad behavior
The so called Christians for Israel are either misguided our supporters for profit hypocrites. When the IDF kill a Palestinian kid most of you are silent, remember"Thou shall not murder)?I am convinced most if not all of the TV pitchmen are supporting Israel for profit, remember all of us will have to stand before our Redeemer and justify our behavior.Money and fame is not a ticket to Heaven. All of us need to re-examine our hearts and see if we are just in the eyes of or Lord and Creator.
