Netanyahu's rejection of Obama's 1967 border deal leaves peace talks in tatters
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/21/netanyahu-rejects-obama-1967-borders

Senior Palestinian officials declared peace negotiations with Israel were "pointless" after the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, rejected Barack Obama's call to base Middle East border talks on the pre-1967 war lines.

Amid growing evidence of a deepening crisis in the stalled peace process, Fatah officials also indicated that they would defy Obama's calls not to seek UN recognition of Palestine as an independent state – a move that the US president has warned against following Fatah's reconciliation with the Islamic militant organisation Hamas.

The comments from Nabil Shaath and Saeb Erekat, both aides to Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, follow the rejection by Netanyahu of Obama's call for a Palestine based broadly on pre-1967 borders.

Instead, Netanyahu has said that Israel views the US proposal as "unrealistic" and "indefensible". Underlining its rejection last week, on the eve of Netanyahu's visit to Washington, Israel announced it intends to build 1,500 new housing units in east Jerusalem.

6. The day Obama gave the speech-- a Duer had a long post
referring to an article from the Haeretz(Jewish Newspaer)
in which a WH Source was taling to Haeretz. I cannot
remember the countries. However, 182 would include just
about all countries who belong to UN.

I believe most countries support Obama's position. BUT,
if nothing happens and Palestine goes to the UN for approval
of Independent State status, they will have support of
the world and the US and Israel will be isolated. WE WILL
STAND WITH ISRAEL. The President made that clear.

If they start working seriously on Peace Plan this might
stop Palestine from seeking UN Approval.

Check out posts after Obama gave initial speech.

10. Palestinians reject peace talks because Israel won't capitulate to their demands
Israel should reject any talks centered around the idea that they will have to make huge sacrifices while nothing is required of Palestinians.

12. Full Israeli withdrawal from all territories captured in the 1967 Mideast war
The right of Palestinian refugees to return to the homes that they lost upon Israel's founding in 1948.

I'd say those are the two big ones.

14. All of it? East Jersulaem? The Jewish Quater? The Wailing Wall?
Seems that it would make sense for at least some portion of the Old City of East Jerusalem, such as the Jewish Quarter, to become part of Israel or be put under some sort of international jurisdiction.

15. I'd 100% support the international jurisdiction option for Jerusalem.
Or at the very least a dual state capital.

17. Yes
Your understanding is wrong.

Abbas: We won't waive right of return

Palestinians respond to Netanyahu: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he will not waive any part of the West Bank. "We demand a territorial continuity between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and will not give up the right of return," Abbas told Egyptian newspaper Oktober over the weekend.
