Explosion heard in Jerusalem
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/A/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1061262865507

An explosion has been heard in Jerusalem.

According to Israel Radio, a bus has blown up near the neighborhood of Maalot.

An eye-witness told Israel Radio that bus #2 on the way to the Wailing Wall exploded "just before Road #1" at the end of Shmuel Hanavi. He said it was full of passengers.

5. A clear line between the two
There is a clear line between military action against terror and terrorists who blow up women and children like the terrorist actions of today.

You expect that line to be the Green Line and, until there is a peace settlement with some sort of Palestinian group, then Israel will build a wall to keep out terrorists wherever makes the most military sense.

If a viable Palestinian leadership wishes to make peace and negotiate the location of the wall, while simultaneously agreeing to fight Palestinian terror, then that will be a good thing.

Edited on Tue Aug-19-03 02:55 PM by Resistance
yet murdering Palestinian civilians amounts only to "blanket statements" and I would assume 'biased propaganda' right?

Let's get this straight -- I am against both the terrorism of Palestinian militants and the terrorism of the Israeli army. You (and way too many others) are the one that condemns only the Palestinian terrorism, yet make excuse after excuse for Israeli terrorism. This is wrong.

it sounds too simplistic to be true, but is a most common trend.

wrong flag = "nothing they do is right"

14. Exactly
right, but a bit on the polite side.

Children are being murdered, I saw a small child with blood running down her face. There is no excuse, no rational that can defnd this type of atrocity. Why is it when Israeli children are murdered the media brings some snivling, smirking Palestinian spoksperson to come "explain" it?

Some people come on the board and make excuses. Some blame Israel. Some say Israeli soldiers are brutal. Let me tell it like it is, Israel tried to make peace, Arafat rejected it. These murderers are so damn lucky that the majority of IDF forces are decent human beings, unlike their counterparts in the Arab world. Who wouldn't be full of hate to see their countrymen attacked day after day. The so called truce is a joke and Sharon, by letting terrorists out of jail is responsible for two bombings, one in Israel and one in Iraq.
If Bebe ever gets into power these murderers will look at Sharon as a kindly old grandfather. At this point in time I'm for Bebe.

So, are there some snivling, smirking Jewish spokspeople to come "explain" it?

You would prefer "objectivity" without objection. A rather dishonest stance from my POV. Release the deathgrip on my wallet and we'll talk about "objectivity".

29. Your argument is incredibly fallacious, buddy.
When you have a 2 trillion government you can say that you don't want to pay for Israel's share of foreign aid. But, maybe I don't want to pay for financial aid, your health care, your kids' education. Everybody has a stake in this and it is completely asinine for you to be mad about this when you use govt services just like everyone else.

32. um..ok, "buddy"
"When you have a 2 trillion government you can say that you don't want to pay for Israel's share of foreign aid."

Umm...what?

"But, maybe I don't want to pay for financial aid, your health care, your kids' education."

Whose financial aid? You don't pay for my health or education costs as it is. So what are you saying? I, for one, would rather have my tax dollars spent on Americans, regardless of ethnicity, even on stupid people who think that because someone is Puerto Rican they are automatically on the public dole.

"Everybody has a stake in this and it is completely asinine for you to be mad about this when you use govt services just like everyone else."

Everybody has a stake in what? Wow, now I'm asinine and angry, I think about using goverment services, I think. Ah well, those Puerto Ricans, always using up those government services. Not that it has anything to do with foreign aid wasted on a failed, non-viable, colonial experiment. The only thing that "aid" does for the US is to bring culpability for every atrocity committed by the IDF to our collective doorsteps. You can step over it like a homeless man, but some of us have a shred of humanity left.

*Chum*, you might want to get your vomiting problem checked-out. Could cause damage to the pipes over the long term. Also, next time you want to match wits, bring some...

because you have none :). You sure do love to dance around my points, I'll give you that, but I guess that you don't use government services. You never drive on government roads, and you probably never went to public schools. The federal education budget is over 50 billion dollars, and Israel gets far less than that. I can name tons of examples of government services that you probably never benefited from, besides defense of course. I'm sure you have never used the postal service </sarcasm>. And your whole argument revolves around Thomas Jefferson's quote, "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." Well, that's nice, you don't want to pay for Israel's defense. That argument doesn't hold water. Almost everybody on DU wants government spending in one area or another, and almost everybody benefits from government. And a lot of people pay more taxes than you, so they have a lot more say than you do.

38. You sound like a spokesperson for the SA govt.
during the early 80s when they were fighting a losing battle against oncoming sanctions.

You have no idea what I "love" to do, and portray yourself as rather foolish in an attempt to assert anything in that catagory.

I went to public school over 25 years ago, my "kids" now go to catholic school. From the tone of your posts I feel it is safe to say that I was out of school and working before you ever payed your first penny in tax.

"but I guess that you don't use government services"

You would guess wrong, but you mentioned some specific government services, financial aid, education and medical. I understand that you are backpedalling on those points because you realize you don't know what you are talking about. Now you want to talk about roads, the post office and Thomas Jefferson... :eyes:

"Well, that's nice, you don't want to pay for Israel's defense. That argument doesn't hold water. Almost everybody on DU wants government spending in one area or another, and almost everybody benefits from government."

Three disjointed sentences bordering on incoherence.

"And a lot of people pay more taxes than you, so they have a lot more say than you do."

I am a self-employed businessman, so how the hell do you know how much I mak...oh, wait, that's right, those Puerto Ricans you aren't talking about. They must all be a burden to decent taxpayers like yourself, hmmm? You have it bad, *buddy*.

"All men are created equal" Now besides the fact that women were originally left out (now included by the common notion that "men" refers to all humanity), what *don't* you understand about that statement.

There is no qualifier, such as, "All men are created equal, but the rich are more equal than others".

That's what you are saying in your semi-coherent statements.

Anyway, yes as an American Taxpayer, I should have a say and a right to complain about how my money is spend. Especially if that money is going to an occupying military that's oppressing and cleansing the population (which is against US law).

I'm extremely guilty, more so, if I didn't speak out against it.
