"Yigal Amir has no regrets for murder Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and believes that the act was necessary. Speaking to reporters ahead of a court hearing on his request to marry his fiancee, Amir said that today's events proves that what he did was right.

"Everything I said has come true today. I knew that the whole process was one big lie ... Everyone knows this, but go on anyway as though they are blind," he said

He argues that what he did was not murder as he his intention was not bad. He said he did what he did to save the Jewish people."

2. That guy is still alive?
One of the merits to the death penalty is that you don't have to listen to these kinds of interviews from murderers after they have been executed.

3. I beg to disagree
Events have proven his act to be wrong and that he was the one acting in a blind capacity. Rabin was the one with vision.

4. Amir's goal is to hold settlements, not preserve life
or the Israeli state or justice for that matter.

5. Yes, I agree
I was thinking of something that lead to a long term solution which is where Rabin's vision for developing something more akin to a lasting peace and Amir's short sightedness came into play.
